We had our third face-to-face SPEED session at Liverpool John Moores University. Participants came from different backgrounds. While some had worked for years in teaching and were regular users of learning technologies, others had vast business experience in their area but were quite new to higher education! This pointed to a need to define some pedagogical vocabulary (e.g., OER, VLE, SPEED!) without assuming that everyone was familiar with it. We are now thinking about including a glossary in the SPEED online course.
From this session we found that SPEED might have a broader reach than originally planned. Participants belong to different faculties, and some have contact with external professional associations that could benefit from the project.
Now we look forward to our last face-to-face session and to keep SPEEDing along!
